Job Description
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented QA Engineer with 1 year of experience to join our team working on solutions for a US-based client in the insurance industry. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring software quality through manual and basic automation testing processes.
The ideal candidate should have a good understanding of software testing concepts, strong analytical skills, and hands-on experience with testing web applications. You will work closely with developers, product teams, and QA members in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform manual testing of web-based applications and assist in automation testing activities
- Understand business requirements and prepare clear and structured test cases
- Execute test cases, identify bugs, and report defects with proper documentation
- Work closely with development and product teams to resolve issues efficiently
- Perform regression, integration, system, and user acceptance testing
- Assist in troubleshooting application issues and documenting findings
- Participate in Agile/SCRUM meetings and QA process improvements
- Maintain test reports and share testing status updates
- Support automation framework maintenance and execution
- Ensure applications meet both functional and usability requirements
Minimum Requirements
- 1 year of experience in software testing (Manual + basic Automation)
- Understanding of web application testing and API/backend testing concepts
- Knowledge of writing test cases and executing test scenarios
- Familiarity with tools such as Selenium, Postman, JIRA, TestNG, or similar
- Basic understanding of defect lifecycle and QA methodologies
- Knowledge of at least one programming/scripting language (Java, Python, JavaScript, or C#)
- Familiarity with Agile/SCRUM methodologies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a remote/hybrid work environment
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
- Basic knowledge of SQL queries for database validation
- ISTQB certification or equivalent QA certification
- Exposure to insurance, fintech, or e-commerce projects
- Knowledge of performance or security testing tools like JMeter or OWASP
Note (BGV)
As part of the onboarding process, a background verification (BGV) will be conducted, including education verification, employment history, criminal records check, and reference verification.
