Job Title: Quality Engineer
Department: Quality Assurance & Quality Control (QA/QC)
Reporting To: Quality Manager / QA Manager
Experience: 5–8 Years (Structural Steel/PEB/Infrastructure Industry Preferred)
Qualification:
* Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
* Valid NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) Certification (Level II preferred in applicable methods such as UT, RT, MT, PT, or VT).
* Additional QA/QC certifications are an added advantage.

Role Description The Project Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing site activities to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with approved quality standards. The role requires strong technical expertise in structural steel projects, design interpretation, site execution, manpower management, and coordination with internal teams and contractors.
Job Summary
The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all fabrication, welding, structural steel, and site activities comply with approved drawings, client specifications, applicable codes, and company quality standards. The role involves inspection, quality documentation, coordination with production and site teams, and implementation of quality assurance and quality control procedures.
Key Responsibilities
* Implement and maintain Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) procedures throughout fabrication and site execution.
* Conduct inspections of raw materials, fabrication processes, welding activities, and finished structural components.
* Perform or witness Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) activities and verify compliance with applicable standards.
* Review NDT reports, welding records, inspection reports, and quality documentation.
* Ensure structural steel fabrication and erection activities meet approved drawings, specifications, and relevant industry codes.
* Coordinate with Production, Design, Project, and Site teams to resolve quality-related issues.
* Identify non-conformities (NCRs), recommend corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and monitor their closure.
* Prepare Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), quality checklists, material inspection reports, and final quality dossiers.
* Monitor welding quality, fit-up, dimensional accuracy, and surface preparation before painting or galvanizing.
* Ensure calibration of inspection and measuring instruments.
* Participate in internal, client, and third-party quality audits.
* Maintain quality records and submit periodic quality reports to management.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and reduce rework.
Required Skills & Knowledge
* Strong knowledge of structural steel fabrication, welding inspection, and erection activities.
* Practical knowledge of NDT methods such as UT, MT, PT, RT, and Visual Inspection.
* Familiarity with welding procedures (WPS/PQR), welding qualifications, and inspection requirements.
* Ability to read and interpret structural, fabrication, and mechanical drawings.
* Knowledge of applicable standards and codes such as IS, AWS, ASME, or ISO.
* Experience in quality documentation, inspections, and audit processes.
* Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
* Proficiency in MS Office and quality documentation.
