About the role
We are looking for a Quality Engineer to manage end-to-end quality inspection across manufacturing processes and drive continuous improvement initiatives. This role is critical in ensuring product quality, minimizing defects, and achieving operational KPIs.
Main accountabilities of the role:
- Perform line inspection and ensure quality compliance at all stages: raw material receipt, in-process, PDI, and final inspection.
- Carry out receiving inspection and prepare inspection reports for machined parts, tubes, and covers.
- Handle all quality activities on the manufacturing line, from raw material receipt to PDI line clearance.
- Prepare and maintain quality documentation at each manufacturing stage (receiving, in-process, final).
- Conduct daily workstation-wise process audits as per the process audit checklist.
- Perform SPC, MSA studies, and participate in process and product audits.
- Conduct painting scratch tests as per defined standards.
- Analyze customer returns and warranty failure parts in coordination with internal teams and suppliers.
- Resolve in-house and customer complaints using structured problem-solving methods.
- Initiate actions to reduce in-line rejection and DPPM through effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Inform suppliers of online non-conformities within 24 hours and follow up for improvements.
- Prepare and review monthly rework and rejection reports, including PPM trends and Pareto analysis.
Requirements:
ITI / B.Sc (4+ years) or Diploma (DME) (2+ years) in quality/manufacturing
Experience in high-volume / mass production environments
Proficiency in inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, VMM)
Strong knowledge of:
- 7 QC Tools & 8D methodology
- PFMEA, Control Plans, SOPs, PFD
- ISO 9001:2015
Ability to read engineering drawings & specifications
Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills
- Comfortable working in rotational shifts
Language Skills:
Marathi / Hindi (spoken)
English (basic working proficiency)
