About The Role
We are seeking a skilled Automation QA Engineer to join our team on a 6-month contract with the possibility of extension. This is a 100% remote role based in India, operating within the CET time zone (2 PM IST to 11 PM IST). The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting our Point of Sale (POS) systems and backend integrations, focusing heavily on process automation and test framework development. The primary objective is to design and implement automation frameworks from scratch where none currently exist, ensuring robust testing coverage for our web, mobile, and backend systems. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision, delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in QA automation, with a strong hands-on background in developing and maintaining automation frameworks. Proficiency in JavaScript and Playwright is essential, along with experience in API testing using Postman. Familiarity with POS systems across various industries is highly desirable, as is a solid understanding of test automation principles and frameworks. Candidates should have experience working with JIRA or similar test management tools, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Experience with web browser testing and mobile application testing will be considered advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks utilizing Playwright and JavaScript to facilitate efficient testing processes.
- Automate manual testing procedures for POS workflows and backend integrations, ensuring comprehensive test coverage.
- Conduct API testing and validation using Postman, verifying the functionality and reliability of backend services.
- Execute owner testing across POS, AS400, and integrated systems, identifying issues and ensuring system integrity.
- Utilize JIRA for detailed test tracking, defect management, and reporting to ensure transparency and accountability.
- Participate in testing efforts for web and mobile applications, ensuring compatibility and performance across platforms.
- Identify automation opportunities within existing processes and contribute to continuous process improvements.
- Support testing activities involving AS400 middleware systems and POS platforms, ensuring seamless integration.
- Engage in screening exercises and provide real-world testing scenarios to enhance test coverage and robustness.
