Job Title: Quality Control Tester
Location: Ulhasnagar, Maharashtra
Work Mode: Onsite
Shift: US Shift
Availability: Immediate joiners or candidates with a 1-month notice period are preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day functional QC activities while maintaining effective communication with the development and business teams.
- Analyze, prioritize, and resolve quality issues systematically to ensure seamless product delivery.
- Act as the primary point of contact for defect tickets and ensure their resolution within defined timelines.
- Design and execute test cases for BI reports, SQL data validation, API responses, and web interfaces.
- Document issue resolution approaches, unit test plans, and test results clearly.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions aligned with business requirements.
- Perform data validation and comparison using SQL queries and Microsoft Excel.
- Conduct basic API testing using Postman—verifying request/response structures and data accuracy.
- Carry out cross-browser and basic web testing using knowledge of HTML and CSS.
- Log, track, and manage defects through the full lifecycle using Jira or Azure DevOps.
Experience:
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in software or data quality control testing.
- Hands-on experience with BI tools such as IBM Cognos Analytics, Microsoft Power BI, or equivalent platforms.
- Proficiency in SQL—MySQL, SQL Server, or Oracle—for writing data validation queries.
- Experience using Microsoft Excel for data comparison, validation, and test data preparation.
- Basic experience with Postman for API testing and response validation.
- Understanding of HTML and CSS basics for web-based testing.
- Prior experience working in a fast-paced environment and meeting critical deadlines.
Skills Required:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent communication skills to document defects and coordinate with development teams.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities in a high-pressure environment while maintaining accuracy.
- Proven ability in analysis, debugging, and root cause identification of quality issues.
- Strong documentation skills for creating test plans, workflows, and issue resolution reports.
- Positive, solution-driven mindset with a focus on delivering quality outcomes.
- Ability to work effectively in US shift hours from the Ulhasnagar, Maharashtra office.
- Knowledge of additional reporting or automation tools is a plus.
