Role Description The Quality Control Microbiologist will be responsible for performing routine and non-routine microbiological testing of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished veterinary products to ensure compliance with internal specifications and regulatory requirements. This full-time on-site role, based in Saharanpur, involves conducting environmental monitoring, water testing, and microbial limit tests, as well as supporting validation and stability studies. The role includes operating and maintaining laboratory equipment, preparing culture media and reagents, and accurately documenting results in accordance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and GMP+ standards. The Quality Control Microbiologist will collaborate with production and quality assurance teams to investigate deviations, support root cause analysis, and recommend corrective and preventive actions. The position also involves contributing to continuous improvement of laboratory procedures, participating in audits, and ensuring adherence to all safety and hygiene protocols in the microbiology laboratory.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Microbiology, with applied experience in microbial testing, identification, and environmental monitoring in a QC or pharmaceutical/animal health laboratory.
- Demonstrated Quality Control expertise, including familiarity with GMP/GLP principles, documentation practices, and compliance with relevant regulatory and quality standards.
- Proficient Laboratory Skills, such as aseptic technique, media preparation, sample handling, and accurate performance of microbiological assays.
- Hands-on experience with Laboratory Equipment, including incubators, autoclaves, laminar airflow units, colony counters, and basic analytical instruments, along with routine maintenance and calibration awareness.
- Strong Analytical Skills to interpret test results, identify trends or out-of-specification findings, and contribute to investigations and corrective actions.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or a related life science discipline.
- Good written and verbal communication skills for clear documentation, reporting, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work with attention to detail, maintain high standards of accuracy, and manage multiple tests and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with animal health, feed additives, or pharmaceutical manufacturing is an advantage.
