Role Description The Quality Control Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Coimbatore, responsible for ensuring that fabricated and sheet metal components meet established quality standards and customer specifications. Day-to-day tasks include inspecting incoming materials and finished products, monitoring production processes, and performing measurements and tests to verify compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and internal quality procedures. The role involves documenting inspection results, identifying non-conformities, coordinating corrective and preventive actions with production teams, and supporting root cause analysis for recurring issues. The Quality Control Engineer will collaborate closely with engineering, production, and management to improve quality processes, update quality documentation, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the facility.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong skills in Quality Control and Quality Assurance, including inspection methods, testing procedures, and defect analysis.
- Candidates should possess solid Quality Management capabilities, including familiarity with ISO 9001:2015, process documentation, and continuous improvement practices.
- Candidates should possess excellent Analytical Skills to interpret data, perform root cause analysis, and recommend practical corrective actions.
- Candidates should possess effective Communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, prepare clear reports, and support training on quality standards.
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related field; experience in fabrication, sheet metal, or manufacturing environments is preferred.
- Proficiency with measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges) and basic understanding of engineering drawings and tolerances.
- Attention to detail, ability to work on the shop floor, and a proactive approach to safety and quality improvement.
