Position: QC Engineer – Mechanical
Experience: 3–8 Years
Industry Preference: Pressure Vessel / Fabrication / Oil & Gas / Process Equipment Manufacturing

Job Summary:
We are looking for a qualified and experienced Mechanical QC Engineer with strong exposure to workshop fabrication activities, pressure vessels, and U Stamp requirements. The candidate should have sound knowledge of quality control procedures, welding inspections, fabrication standards, and documentation related to ASME codes and pressure vessel manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform quality inspection activities for fabrication of pressure vessels, tanks, piping, and structural components.
- Ensure all fabrication and welding activities are carried out as per approved drawings, WPS, QAP, and applicable codes/standards.
- Conduct stage-wise inspections including material inspection, fit-up, welding, dimensional checks, hydro test, and final inspection.
- Maintain and review QC documentation such as ITP, QAP, MDR, WPS/PQR, welder qualification records, and test certificates.
- Coordinate with production, design, and third-party inspection agencies for smooth execution of inspections.
- Handle customer inspections and ensure compliance with client specifications.
- Ensure compliance with ASME Section VIII, U Stamp requirements, and relevant international standards.
- Monitor NDT activities such as RT, UT, PT, and MT and verify reports.
- Prepare punch points and ensure timely closure of observations/non-conformities.
- Maintain calibration records of measuring and testing instruments.
- Support audits and quality improvement initiatives within the workshop.
Required Skills:
- Strong knowledge of pressure vessel fabrication and workshop quality processes.
- Hands-on experience with ASME codes and U Stamp documentation.
- Knowledge of welding inspection and NDT methods.
- Ability to read fabrication drawings, GA drawings, and isometrics.
- Familiarity with quality documentation and inspection reports.
- Good coordination and communication skills.
Qualification:
- Diploma / BE / B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in pressure vessel manufacturing workshops.
- Exposure to Oil & Gas, Chemical, EPC, or Process Equipment industry.
- Experience handling TPI and client inspections will be preferred.
