Assistant Manager – Quality Control
Department: Quality Control
Reports To: Quality Head
Location: Nagpur, Maharashtra
Employment Type: Full-Time
Job Purpose
To ensuring that all raw materials, in-process goods, and finished products meet defined quality standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications through effective testing, inspection, and process control.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise day-to-day quality control activities across incoming materials, in-process production, and finished goods.
- Implement and monitor Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), quality checklists, and inspection protocols.
- Conduct root cause analysis for quality deviations, non-conformances, and customer complaints; drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Maintain and review quality records, test reports, calibration logs, and compliance documentation.
- Coordinate with Production, R&D, and Procurement teams to resolve quality issues and reduce rejection/rework rates.
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards (ISO 13485:2016 and product ISO industry-specific regulations, customer audits).
- Train and guide QC inspectors/technicians on inspection methods, documentation, and safety practices.
- Support internal and external audits; prepare audit responses and closure reports.
- Monitor key quality metrics (defect rate, first-pass yield, customer complaints) and report to management.
- Assist in calibration and maintenance of testing/measuring instruments.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or a related field (industry-specific degree preferred).
- 4–7 years of experience in quality control, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory role.
- Working knowledge of quality tools (7 QC tools, RCA, 5 Why, Fishbone, SPC).
- Familiarity with ISO/regulatory standards relevant to the industry.
