Role Description :
SENIOR EXECUTIVE – QUALITY CONTROL & ASSURANCE (QC)
Location: Pune
Industry: Manufacturing – Modular Switches & Electrical Accessories
Experience: 5–8 Years
CTC: ₹4.5–6.5 LPA
Qualification: BE / B.Tech / Diploma – Electrical, Mechanical, Production or related engineering discipline
Languages: Marathi & Hindi – Mandatory
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Senior Executive – Quality Control & Assurance to manage and strengthen quality control and quality assurance activities across incoming materials, in-process production and finished goods.
The role will be responsible for BOM control, SOP documentation, inspection and testing, quality records, ISO 9001:2015 compliance, internal audits, non-conformity management, RCA/CAPA and customer complaint resolution.
The candidate will work closely with Production, Purchase, Stores, Dispatch, Maintenance, R&D/Engineering and other cross-functional teams to ensure consistent product quality, process compliance and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities1. Incoming, In-Process & Final Quality Control
- Manage IQC, IPQC and Final Quality Control activities.
- Ensure incoming materials are inspected as per approved specifications and quality standards.
- Monitor critical process parameters and quality checkpoints during production.
- Ensure finished products are inspected and released as per defined specifications.
- Maintain inspection standards, check sheets and acceptance criteria.
- Ensure proper traceability of materials, components and finished products.
2. BOM & SOP Documentation
- Maintain and control BOMs, product specifications, drawings and revision records.
- Prepare, review and control SOPs, Work Instructions, Quality Standards and Inspection Standards.
- Ensure only approved and latest versions of documents are available at the point of use.
- Coordinate with R&D/Engineering and Production for engineering changes and document revisions.
3. Quality Documentation & Records
- Maintain quality records including incoming inspection, process inspection, final inspection, testing and rejection reports.
- Ensure proper documentation and traceability of quality-related activities.
- Maintain quality formats, registers and controlled documents.
- Ensure timely closure and filing of quality records.
4. ISO 9001:2015 & Internal Audits
- Implement and maintain ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System requirements.
- Conduct and coordinate internal quality audits.
- Prepare audit schedules, checklists and reports.
- Identify gaps and ensure timely closure of audit observations and non-conformities.
- Support external/customer audits and ensure required documentation is readily available.
5. Non-Conformity, RCA & CAPA
- Identify, document and control internal and external non-conformities.
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) using appropriate quality tools.
- Implement and monitor Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
- Track CAPA effectiveness and ensure timely closure.
- Analyse recurring quality issues and recommend preventive actions.
6. Customer Complaints
- Coordinate investigation and resolution of customer complaints.
- Analyse complaint samples/data and identify root causes.
- Prepare 8D / RCA-CAPA reports wherever required.
- Coordinate with Production, Engineering and other departments for corrective actions.
- Monitor complaint trends and implement measures to prevent recurrence.
7. Testing, Inspection & Calibration
- Ensure required product and process testing is conducted as per applicable specifications and standards.
- Coordinate with internal and external laboratories for testing requirements.
- Maintain testing records and reports.
- Ensure measuring and testing equipment is properly identified and calibrated.
- Maintain calibration schedules and records and ensure timely calibration.
8. Quality MIS & Performance Monitoring
- Prepare and maintain daily/weekly/monthly Quality MIS.
- Monitor key quality parameters such as:
- Rejection & rejection %
- Rework
- Incoming rejection
- Process defects
- Final inspection rejection
- Customer complaints
- CAPA closure
- Supplier quality performance
- Analyse trends and highlight major quality issues to management.
- Drive corrective actions based on quality data.
9. Team Management
- Allocate responsibilities to QC team members and inspectors.
- Train team members on inspection procedures, quality standards and SOPs.
- Monitor team performance and adherence to quality procedures.
- Ensure adequate quality manpower coverage across shifts/production requirements.
- Develop a culture of quality and process discipline within the organisation.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001:2015.
- Good understanding of 7 QC Tools.
- Knowledge of RCA, CAPA, 8D and basic Six Sigma methodologies.
- Experience in IQC, IPQC and Final Quality Control.
- Knowledge of internal, customer and external audits.
- Strong understanding of quality documentation and document control.
- Experience in BOM, SOP, Work Instruction and inspection-standard management.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong knowledge of MS Office and Advanced Excel.
- Good communication and cross-functional coordination skills.
- Ability to independently handle quality issues and drive closure.
Preferred Industry Experience
Candidates with experience in electrical products, modular switches, switchgear, electrical accessories, injection moulding, sheet-metal components, assembly or similar manufacturing industries will be preferred.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for a hands-on quality professional who can work closely with the shop floor and take ownership of quality systems as well as day-to-day quality control.
The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in a manufacturing environment, analysing quality data, interacting with production teams and driving RCA, CAPA and continuous improvement rather than limiting the role to inspection activities.
