Key Responsibilities:
- Inspection & Verification
- Inspect incoming raw materials as per approved specifications, drawings, and standard operating procedures.
- Verify quantity, labeling, batch numbers, and packaging conditions upon receipt.
- Conduct visual, physical, and basic functional checks on items like fabric, foam density, GSM, zippers, and trims.
- Sampling & Testing
- Draw representative samples as per AQL (Acceptance Quality Limit) or company sampling plan.
- Coordinate or conduct basic in-house tests (e.g., GSM check, color matching, zipper function test, foam rebound check).
- Liaise with external labs if advanced testing is required (e.g., Martindale, bleed test, toxicity).
- Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain detailed inspection records including checklists, test reports, and rejection reports.
- Update the ERP system or manual records with material status (Accepted, Rejected, On Hold).
- Generate NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports) and coordinate with the purchase team and suppliers for corrective action.
- Quality Assurance
- Ensure rejected or held materials are clearly tagged, isolated, and not used in production.
- Support the continuous improvement of incoming quality control processes.
- Participate in supplier audits and evaluations if needed.
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Knowledge of textile/fabric properties and foam materials used in cushions.
- Familiarity with basic quality control tools (e.g., measuring tape, GSM cutter, color swatches, calipers).
- Understanding of AQL, ISO standards, and basic QC practices.
- Good observation, reporting, and record-keeping skills.
- Basic computer knowledge for maintaining reports (Excel, ERP system).
Qualifications:
- Diploma / Graduate in Textile Technology or related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in quality inspection, preferably in cushion or textile-related industry.
