Job Description — QA Tester

Role Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented and quality-driven QA Tester to join our technology team. You will be responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability and performance of our financial platforms — Fydaa and Savestment — before they reach our clients. In the BFSI space, quality is not just a standard — it is a trust obligation. You will work closely with developers, product managers and business analysts to ensure every release is thoroughly tested and production-ready.
Key Responsibilities
Functional Testing
- Design, develop and execute detailed test cases, test plans, test scripts and automated test suites for Fydaa and Savestment platforms ensuring consistent quality across manual and automated testing cycles
- Perform functional, regression, integration, smoke and sanity testing across web and mobile applications
- Validate end-to-end financial workflows - client onboarding, KYC verification, investment transactions, portfolio management and reporting modules
- Test user-facing features for accuracy, usability and business logic compliance
API & Backend Testing
- Test REST APIs using tools like Postman or similar - validate request/response, authentication, error handling and data accuracy
- Collaborate with backend developers to test financial data flows, calculation logic and transaction processing
- Validate data integrity between frontend, backend and databases
Performance & Security Testing
- Conduct basic performance and load testing for critical financial workflows
- Identify and report security vulnerabilities — particularly in areas involving client data, payment flows and KYC/AML processes
- Ensure compliance with SEBI data security guidelines and financial data privacy standards
Bug Tracking & Reporting
- Log, track and manage defects using tools like JIRA / Bugzilla / Trello
- Provide clear, reproducible bug reports with steps to reproduce, expected vs actual results and severity classification
- Follow up with development team on bug resolution and verify fixes
Automation (Good to Have)
- Assist in developing and maintaining automated test scripts using Selenium / Cypress / Appium
- Contribute to building a regression test automation suite for recurring test scenarios
Process & Collaboration
- Participate in sprint planning, daily standups and sprint reviews as part of an Agile team
- Collaborate closely with developers, product managers and business stakeholders
- Ensure test coverage aligns with acceptance criteria and product requirements
- Maintain and update test documentation regularly
Required Skills & Qualifications
Core Skills:
- 2 years of hands-on QA testing experience - web and/or mobile applications
- Strong knowledge of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Proficiency in writing and executing test cases, test plans and test reports
- Experience with API testing using Postman or similar tools
- Good understanding of Agile / Scrum methodology
- Experience with bug tracking tools - JIRA
- Basic knowledge of SQL — ability to write queries for data validation
- Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking
Good to Have:
- Experience testing BFSI / Fintech / Investment platforms
- Knowledge of financial products — Mutual Funds, SIP, KYC, payment gateways
- Exposure to test automation tools — Selenium / Cypress / Appium
- Basic understanding of SEBI regulatory compliance requirements
- Mobile app testing experience — Android / iOS
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and integration testing
Qualifications:
- B.E. / B.Tech in Computer Science, IT or equivalent
- OR BCA / B.Sc. (Computer Science) with relevant experience
- 2 years of QA experience in a product-based or fintech company preferred
