Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Quality Manager to join our dynamic team at Aptia. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining the strategic testing vision, manage end-to-end quality assurance processes, and lead QA teams to ensure software, systems, or products meet high-quality standards before release.
This role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a passion for maintaining excellence in software testing practices.
Key Responsibilities
Test Strategy & Planning
- Develop comprehensive test strategies and plans for multiple projects including outcome based engagements
- Define testing scope, objectives, and business success criteria
- Create and maintain test schedules aligned with project timelines
- Establish testing standards, processes, and best practices across the organization
Quality Assurance Oversight
- Oversee all phases of testing including functional, integration, performance, and security testing
- Ensure thorough test coverage and appropriate test case design
- Review and approve test plans, test cases, and testing procedures
- Monitor testing progress and provide regular status updates to stakeholders
- Strong in setting and institutionalizing automation frameworks that would enable ‘shift-left testing’ and improve the productivity of overall delivery.
Process Improvement
- Continuously evaluate and improve testing processes and methodologies
- Implement automated testing frameworks and tools
- Drive adoption of industry best practices and emerging technologies
- Analyze defect trends and implement preventive measures
Risk Management
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements
- Coordinate release readiness assessments
- Manage testing environments and resources
Team Leadership & Management
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of QA engineers and testers
- Conduct performance reviews and provide career development guidance
- Foster a collaborative and innovative testing culture
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams including Development, Product Management, and DevOps
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- Experience: Min 15+ years in core quality assurance space with at least 5 years in management role
- Experience: Previous experience in a similar industry or domain
- Technical Skills:
- Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, cucumber, playwright), CI/CD pipelines, and testing methodologies.
- Experience with performance testing tools (JMeter, LoadRunner)
- Knowledge of API testing and security testing practices
- Familiarity with cloud-based testing environments
- Proficiency in test management tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail, Zephyr)
- Knowledge of various testing methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, DevOps)
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and integration testing
