Position Overview
The Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist is responsible for the meticulous review and validation of digital instructional materials across Mathematics, Science, ELA, and Social Studies for Grades 3–12. Serving as the final line of defense, this role ensures all lessons are educationally sound, strictly aligned with U.S. curriculum standards, and technically optimized for a seamless student experience. The ideal candidate will combine pedagogical expertise with technical savvy to guarantee instructional accuracy, clarity, and platform consistency.
Key Responsibilities
Instructional Review and Alignment
- Review lessons across all core subjects to ensure strict alignment with U.S. state and national standards.
- Verify the instructional accuracy and clarity of content, ensuring that concepts are explained correctly and are age-appropriate.
- Validate the quality and rigor of "Exit Tickets" and practice exercises to ensure they effectively measure defined learning objectives.
Content Flow and User Experience
- Evaluate lesson flow and transitions to ensure a logical and engaging progression for the learner.
- Check for platform-specific formatting consistency, ensuring all multimedia elements, text, and interactive components are complete and functional.
- Ensure the narrative voice and instructional tone remain consistent across different subject areas.
Issue Tracking and Resolution
- Systematically flag pedagogical errors, typos, or technical glitches within the production environment.
- Maintain detailed logs to track identified issues from discovery through to successful resolution.
- Provide clear, actionable, and constructive feedback to Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and curriculum developers to improve future content iterations.
AI-Enabled Workflow
- Utilize approved AI tools and digital content management systems to support content review, development, and quality enhancement.
- Validate AI-generated outputs specifically for pedagogical soundness, factual accuracy, and standards alignment.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Curriculum Development, or a related field.
- Proven experience in Quality Assurance or editorial review within the K-12 educational publishing or EdTech sector.
- Strong cross-disciplinary knowledge (Math, Science, ELA, and Social Studies) for elementary, middle, or high school levels (Grades 3–12).
- Demonstrated comfort and proficiency working with AI tools and digital content management systems.
- Willingness to work within digital authoring tools, specifically Articulate Rise (training will be provided).
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Education or Instructional Design.
- Direct experience working with Articulate Rise or similar e-learning authoring tools.
- Deep familiarity with diverse U.S. state standards (e.g., Common Core, NGSS, C3 Framework).
Skills and Attributes
- Exceptional attention to detail with a strict "student-first" mindset regarding content usability.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to spot subtle errors in complex logic or formatting.
- Excellent written communication skills for providing clear, actionable feedback to content creators.
- Ability to manage high volumes of content across multiple subjects while meeting tight production deadlines.
- Tech-savvy with a quick learning curve for adapting to new instructional technology platforms.
- Highly organized and capable of working independently in a remote, deadline-driven, contract-based environment.
