Role Description The Director of Quality Assurance is a full-time, remote role responsible for leading the overall quality strategy and ensuring that all jewelry products meet defined standards and regulatory requirements. This role oversees the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of quality systems across the manufacturing process, from raw material inspection through final product release. Day-to-day tasks include establishing quality policies, developing and monitoring key quality metrics, conducting and overseeing internal and external audits, and managing non-conformance investigations and corrective actions. The Director will collaborate closely with production, design, supply chain, and compliance teams to drive consistent quality, reduce defects, and improve processes. Additional responsibilities include leading and mentoring the quality team, managing supplier quality performance, maintaining necessary certifications, and presenting quality reports and recommendations to senior leadership.
Qualifications
- Strong expertise in Quality Assurance and Quality Control, with the ability to design, implement, and oversee robust quality processes and inspections.
- Proven experience in Quality Management and Quality System development, including creating policies, procedures, documentation, and continuous improvement frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with Quality Auditing, including planning and executing internal and supplier audits, and managing resulting corrective and preventive actions.
- Background in manufacturing quality, preferably in jewelry, luxury goods, or closely related industries, with knowledge of materials, processes, and finishing standards.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing quality teams, setting performance goals, and developing talent in a remote or distributed environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in data-driven decision-making, root cause analysis, and risk management tools.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities to partner effectively with cross-functional teams and present findings to senior stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Industrial Management, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., Six Sigma, ISO-related) are a plus.
