Job Description
Contracts Engineer
Contract Management
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, subcontracts, and work orders.
- Ensure compliance with contractual terms and project specifications.
- Maintain proper contract documentation and records.
Tendering & Procurement Support
- Assist in preparation of BOQs and tender documents.
- Evaluate subcontractor/vendor quotations.
- Participate in technical and commercial negotiations.
Variations & Claims
- Identify and document variation works.
- Prepare and submit variation claims with proper backup.
- Handle extension of time (EOT) claims and dispute documentation.
Cost Control & Reporting
- Monitor project budget vs. actual cost.
- Support cost forecasting and cash flow tracking.
- Prepare periodic commercial reports for management. Coordination
- Liaise with project managers, consultants, legal team, and finance.
- Attend project meetings related to contractual matters.
- Support dispute resolution and arbitration processes if required.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
- 3–8 years of experience in contracts/commercial role in construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of BOQ, rate analysis, and contract conditions.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Office, and project management tools.
