Role Description The Quality Assurance Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in the Pune Division, responsible for overseeing and maintaining product quality and food safety across all stages of production. This role manages QA processes, including the implementation and monitoring of quality control plans, inspections, audits, and compliance with relevant food safety regulations and standards. The Quality Assurance Manager collaborates with production, procurement, and R&D teams to develop and improve SOPs, address non-conformities, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Daily responsibilities include reviewing documentation, analyzing quality data, training team members on quality and hygiene practices, and ensuring that frozen products consistently meet internal specifications and external regulatory requirements. The role also involves coordinating with external auditors and certification bodies, supporting customer quality inquiries, and contributing to new product development from a quality and compliance perspective.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in food quality and safety management, including knowledge of HACCP, ISO standards, and relevant national and international food regulations.
- Experience with quality control in frozen or processed foods, including familiarity with freezing technologies (e.g., IQF, blast freezers, plate freezers) and cold-chain management.
- Skills in process auditing, inspection, and documentation, with the ability to design and implement SOPs, checklists, and corrective/preventive action plans.
- Competence in data analysis and reporting, including use of basic statistical tools to monitor quality metrics and drive continuous improvement.
- Strong communication, leadership, and team management skills to train staff, coordinate cross-functional initiatives, and influence quality culture on the shop floor.
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Microbiology, or a related discipline; advanced certifications in quality or food safety are an advantage.
