Role Overview
Frido is looking for a QA/QC Manager to own end-to-end product quality across the lifecycle — from New Product Introduction (NPI) to mass production and post-market performance. This role will be responsible for establishing structured quality systems across suppliers, manufacturing partners, and internal testing processes to ensure consistent product reliability, compliance, and customer satisfaction.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in hardware product quality, supplier audits, testing protocols, certifications, and continuous improvement frameworks within a fast-paced product environment.
Key Responsibilities
Product Quality & NPI Governance
- Define and implement quality frameworks across concept → prototype → validation → mass production
- Partner with Product, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams to ensure design-for-quality (DFQ) and design-for-manufacturability (DFM)
- Establish quality gates across EVT, DVT, PVT stages
- Create structured test protocols covering performance, durability, safety, and reliability
Supplier Quality Management
- Develop and manage supplier quality standards across India and international vendors
- Conduct supplier audits, capability assessments, and qualification processes
- Implement incoming quality control (IQC) frameworks and AQL standards
- Drive supplier corrective actions using CAPA methodologies
- Ensure consistent component reliability across motors, electronics, plastics, textiles, and assemblies
Testing, Validation & Compliance
- Build structured testing processes across mechanical, electrical, and environmental performance parameters
- Manage certification processes including BIS, CE, ISO, RoHS, and other applicable standards
- Oversee pre-shipment inspections and validation protocols
- Define product reliability benchmarks covering lifecycle, stress, and safety testing
Manufacturing Quality Control
- Establish in-process quality control (IPQC) and outgoing quality control (OQC) frameworks
- Develop SOPs for inspection processes and defect classification
- Drive root cause analysis using tools such as 5 Why, Fishbone, FMEA
- Monitor production quality metrics and continuously improve yield performance
Continuous Improvement & Customer Feedback Loop
- Analyze product returns, complaints, and field failures to identify systemic quality gaps
- Drive iterative product improvements through structured feedback loops
- Implement dashboards tracking defect trends, supplier performance, and reliability metrics
- Collaborate with CX team to reduce failure rates and improve product longevity
Candidate Profile
Experience
- 4–8 years experience in Quality Assurance / Quality Control within hardware, consumer products, or manufacturing-led environments
- Experience working with suppliers across India or international markets
- Strong exposure to product validation, testing, and certification workflows
- Prior involvement in NPI programs preferred
Technical Competencies
- Strong understanding of quality systems and inspection methodologies
- Familiarity with DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC
- Experience with mechanical/electrical product testing frameworks
- Working knowledge of ERP or inventory systems (Zoho, SAP, etc.) preferred
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, BOMs, and product specifications
Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Industrial Engineering or related field
