You will be the cornerstone between Product, Development, and Release teams, championing automation across backend (Postman, API frameworks) and frontend (Web & Mobile UI).
Key Responsibilities
Sprint-Aligned Automation
- Partner with Product and Dev during grooming to understand story scope, identify regression impact, and deliver feature-complete automated tests within the sprint.
Framework Ownership
- Design, enhance, and maintain BE automation frameworks (Postman, REST-Assured/Pytest) and UI frameworks (Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Appium).
Code Quality & Standards
- Enforce clean-code practices, peer-review pull requests, and consolidate merged test suites into master with no regressions.
Test Strategy & Coverage
- Continuously analyze feature changes, maintain dynamic tagging for impact-based execution, and achieve zero leakage of critical bugs (L4).
Utility & Tooling Development
- Build reusable utilities (data-fakers, API helpers, reporting tools) to accelerate test creation and improve reliability.
Team Leadership & Coaching
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of 4–8 QA engineers—conduct training, define career development, and ensure consistent delivery.
Reporting & Metrics
- Generate sprint QA dashboards (pass rates, defect leakage, automation coverage), communicate status to stakeholders, and drive improvements.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Developers, Product Owners, and Release Managers to align on quality gates, CI/CD integration, and timely, high-quality releases.
Customer & Stakeholder Demos
- Present automated test outcomes, regression results, and performance metrics to Product, Engineering leadership, and external stakeholders.
Experience
Qualifications & Skills
- 6 to 9 years in Software QA, with at least 2 years leading a team of SDETs in a fast-paced Agile environment.
Technical Expertise

- UI Automation: Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, or Cypress for Web; Appium for native mobile (iOS/Android).
- Languages: Java, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
- CI/CD: Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions—integrating test suites into build pipelines.
- Version Control: Git branching strategies, merge conflict resolution, code reviews.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills to diagnose flaky tests, performance bottlenecks, and complex end-to-end issues.
- Automation Mindset: Passion for writing reliable, maintainable code—building utility libraries and test generators.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills—able to translate technical results into business value for stakeholders.
- Leadership: Proven ability to coach, mentor, and hold peers accountable to QA best practices and sprint commitments.
Desirable
- Experience with cloud device farms (BrowserStack, HeadSpin), Firebase Performance Monitoring, and metrics dashboards.
What You’ll Bring
A track record of reducing regression cycle times via smart test selection and parallel execution. The ability to define and enforce SLAs around bug verification (1-day SLA), PR reviews (1-hour SLA), and defect leakage (
A customer-first mindset—aligning device and performance metrics to real-world usage (e.g., for MobiquityPay in African markets). The drive to continuously optimize test data management, traceability (Jira integration), and reporting to achieve transparent, predictable quality.
