Job Overview:
CGI is looking for a highly skilled Automation Test Engineer with a strong agile mindset and hands-on experience in Scaled Agile delivery models. The ideal candidate will be proficient in UI and API automation testing, capable of designing robust automation frameworks, and experienced in working within fast-paced Agile environments.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
- Actively participate in Agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality automated test scripts for both UI and API testing.
- Build and enhance automation frameworks using Selenium WebDriver, Java, Cucumber, and Karate.
- Perform in-sprint testing, including both manual and automated testing activities.
- Develop and manage test plans, test cases, and traceability matrices.
- Create and maintain robust regression test suites for applications under validation.
- Provide accurate testing estimates during discovery and sprint planning phases.
- Investigate and analyze test failures (manual and automated) to ensure application quality.
- Debug issues and update test scripts as needed to maintain reliability.
- Replicate production defects in lower environments and log defects in defect tracking tools.
- Conduct defect walkthroughs with developers and support teams.
- Collaborate closely with development teams (onshore/offshore) to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Automate repetitive validation tasks for both web applications and APIs.
- Ensure proper reporting of test progress, metrics, and results to QA managers and stakeholders.
- Work with product teams to define acceptance criteria and BDD scenarios.
- Continuously improve automation practices and testing processes.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong experience in Automation Testing with expertise in Selenium WebDriver and Java.
- Hands-on experience with Cucumber (BDD) and Karate Framework.
- Solid understanding of UI and API testing methodologies.
- Experience in building custom automation frameworks from scratch.
- Good knowledge of Agile and Scaled Agile (SAFe) methodologies.
- Proficiency in test planning, estimation, and defect management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Good to Have:
- Experience in Database Testing (SQL queries, data validation).
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Knowledge of performance testing tools is an added advantage.
