Job SummaryWe are looking for a Junior Quality Engineer to support quality assurance activities in a manufacturing setup. The role focuses on PPAP, APQP documentation, 8D problem-solving, and handling of standard metrology instruments to ensure product quality and customer compliance.
Key Responsibilities- Support APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) activities and maintain related documentation
- Assist in preparation and submission of PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) documents
- Participate in 8D problem-solving for internal and customer quality issues
- Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections as per control plans
- Handle and operate metrology instruments, including:
- Vernier calipers
- Micrometers
- Height gauges
- Dial indicators
- Bore gauges
- Go / No-Go gauges
- Profile projector / CMM (basic level, if applicable)
- Ensure proper calibration, storage, and usage of measuring instruments
- Identify, record, and report non-conformances
- Support root cause analysis and corrective actions (as part of 8D)
- Assist during internal audits and customer audits
- Maintain quality inspection records and reports
- Coordinate with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues
Required Qualifications- Diploma / Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering or related field
- Knowledge of PPAP, APQP, and 8D methodology
- Hands-on experience or training in metrology and inspection instruments
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings & GD&T (basic)
Preferred Skills- Familiarity with IATF 16949 / ISO 9001 standards
- Basic understanding of SPC and MSA
- Good documentation and reporting skills
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving mindset
- Willingness to work on the shop floor
Experience Level- 0–2 years
- Freshers with relevant training or internship experience are welcome
