About The Role
The Staff Engineer - Quality Automation at NeoITO is a senior technical leadership role responsible for shaping and executing the organization’s quality engineering strategy. This position requires a highly experienced professional with deep expertise in automation frameworks, testing methodologies, and quality governance across the entire software development lifecycle. The successful candidate will lead the design and implementation of scalable automation architectures for Web, Mobile, API, Data Engineering, and AI workloads, ensuring robust quality standards are maintained. They will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Principal Engineers, to promote a culture of quality, innovation, and continuous improvement. The role demands a strategic thinker capable of mentoring teams, driving automation excellence, and influencing organizational quality policies to deliver superior digital products.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 10+ years of relevant experience in quality engineering and automation, with a proven track record of leading large-scale automation initiatives. Strong technical expertise in automation frameworks such as Appium, WebDriverIO, Selenium, JMeter, Chrome Lighthouse, Karate Labs, and BrowserStack is essential. Proficiency in programming languages including Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS is required. The candidate should have hands-on experience integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines and a deep understanding of test strategy, test case design, and reporting. Familiarity with test management tools like Zephyr or similar platforms is preferred. Knowledge of SAP products such as S/4 and Commerce Cloud/Hybris is a plus. Additionally, experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes, as well as ITSM practices (ITIL v4), will be advantageous. A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is mandatory.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain comprehensive QA architectural artifacts, including testing systems, feedback loops, reporting mechanisms, and integration layers to ensure seamless quality governance across the SDLC. Document quality control strategies, test approaches, and automation frameworks, providing clarity and consistency in testing practices. Define scalable, maintainable automation architectures for diverse workloads such as Web, Mobile, API, Data Engineering, and AI, ensuring they align with organizational goals and industry best practices. Own and contribute to Architecture Decision Records (ADRs) to document critical quality engineering decisions and promote transparency.
Establish and enforce QA engineering standards, policies, and procedures, fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement. Strengthen CI/CD pipelines through proper environment configurations, automation, and real-time quality feedback loops. Evaluate, select, and govern backend QA tools and frameworks, ensuring they meet performance, scalability, and compliance requirements. Provide expert consultancy on technology choices and testing platforms to support organizational needs.
Lead quality automation initiatives across enterprise and eCommerce projects, owning and enhancing testing platforms for Integration, Acceptance, Performance, and Security testing. Train and mentor QA teams to distinguish high-value tests from redundant ones, promoting efficient testing practices. Advocate for API and Web automation as core pillars of the automation strategy, ensuring rapid feedback and high-quality releases.
Drive strategic quality leadership by collaborating with Principal Engineers and cross-functional stakeholders to embed quality automation into the development lifecycle. Promote best-in-class QA strategies with a customer-centric approach, ensuring that testing efforts align with user needs and business objectives. Lead knowledge transfer sessions, mentoring programs, and training initiatives to elevate the QA engineering maturity across the organization. Champion shift-left practices, fostering early defect detection and prevention throughout the development process.
