Senior QA Automation Engineer

Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior QA Automation Engineer to lead quality initiatives across our e-commerce platform. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in building automation frameworks from scratch, validating complex payment workflows, testing third-party integrations, handling production support activities, and collaborating directly with customers and cross-functional teams.
This role requires an individual who can independently drive quality efforts, mentor team members, and ensure successful delivery of high-quality software in a fast-paced Agile environment.

- 6+ years of QA experience with significant exposure to automation testing.
- Proven experience building and maintaining automation frameworks from scratch.
- Strong hands-on experience with Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or equivalent automation tools.
- Extensive experience testing e-commerce applications.
- Deep understanding of:
- Product catalog management
- Shopping cart functionality
- Checkout workflows
- Order processing
- Shipping workflows
- Promotions and discounts
- Returns and exchanges
- Hands-on experience testing payment gateways and payment processing systems.
- Strong experience in API testing and API automation.
- Experience testing ERP, CRM, tax, shipping, inventory, and marketplace integrations.
- Strong SQL skills for database validation and troubleshooting.
- Experience integrating automation suites into CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
Key Responsibilities Automation & Quality Engineering
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks from scratch.
- Develop end-to-end automated test suites for critical business workflows.
- Build and maintain API automation frameworks.
- Establish QA best practices, standards, and testing strategies.
- Continuously improve test coverage and automation effectiveness.
E-Commerce & Integration Testing
- Validate end-to-end order lifecycle scenarios.
- Test payment workflows including authorizations, captures, refunds, and failures.
- Verify integrations involving ERP, tax engines, shipping providers, inventory systems, and third-party applications.
- Ensure data consistency across integrated platforms.
Production Support
- Investigate and validate production issues and customer-reported defects.
- Analyze logs, database records, and API transactions to identify root causes.
- Work closely with Development, Support, and DevOps teams during incident resolution.
- Perform post-release smoke testing and production validations.
- Verify fixes before ticket closure.
Customer-Facing Responsibilities
- Participate in customer calls and issue triage sessions when required.
- Collaborate with business users to understand requirements and reproduce issues.
- Communicate technical findings professionally to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Support User Acceptance Testing activities.
Agile Delivery
- Participate actively in sprint ceremonies:
- Sprint Planning
- Backlog Refinement
- Daily Stand-ups
- Sprint Reviews
- Retrospectives
- Review requirements and identify testing risks early.
- Estimate QA efforts for sprint deliverables.
- Ensure all assigned sprint items meet quality standards before release.
Leadership
- Mentor junior QA engineers.
- Conduct peer reviews of test cases and automation scripts.
- Drive process improvements across the QA function.
- Support release sign-off activities.
