Job Title: QA Engineer (Automation)
Location: India (Fully Remote)
Duration: 6 Months (Initial Contract, Extension Possible)
Work Hours: 10:30/11:30 AM IST – 7:30/8:30 PM IST
Key Requirements (Must-Have)
- Automation Skills: Selenium, Webdriver.io, Cucumber.js, TypeScript/JavaScript
- API & Performance Testing: REST API automation with Postman/Node.js/TypeScript; JMeter experience desirable
- Domain Expertise: Telecom network layers (Layer 0–2, DWDM, STS/Sonet); expertise in at least one relevant layer mandatory
- Strong experience in distributed systems and mission-critical environments
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and execute manual and automated test scripts for Angular UI, REST APIs, and backend systems
- Build and enhance test frameworks for E2E, regression, smoke, integration, and performance testing
- Work independently and collaboratively in a global agile team
- Participate in requirement clarification, test planning, and reporting with developers and stakeholders
- Maintain CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git/Bitbucket), and test management tools (TestRail)
- Perform research to implement effective automation solutions for required functionality
Technical Skills & Tools
- Frontend Testing: Webdriver.io, Cucumber.js, Node.js, TypeScript
- Backend Testing: REST API automation (Cucumber.js, Node.js, TypeScript)
- Load Testing: JMeter, Grafana, Prometheus
- Deployment & Cloud: Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, RedHat OpenShift
- CI/CD Tools: Jenkins, TeamCity, GitLab
- Version Control: Git, Bitbucket
- Build Tools: Maven, NPM, JVM, NodeJS
- Databases: PostgreSQL, Neo4j
- Ticketing & Documentation: Jira, Confluence, GitLab
- System Automation: Ansible, Bash/Shell scripting, Unix/Linux administration
- Networking Hardware: Cisco, Juniper, Ciena Switch/Router (CLI, Netconf, TL1)
Desirable Skills
- Frontend: Angular 2+, HTML, CSS, SVG, D3.js, Gulp
- Backend: Spring Data/Security/MVC, Maven
- Additional: ElasticSearch, Kafka, SSO (LDAP, OAuth2, SAML), TimescaleDB
- Strong understanding of microservices architecture, algorithms, and data structures
