Role Objective
To ensure technical compliance, safety, and high performance of solar installations by streamlining the transition from site design to grid commissioning. This role bridges the gap between engineering plans and field execution through rigorous documentation, physical audits, and adherence to TATA standards.
Roles & Responsibilities
● Monitor quality during site installation, commissioning, and handover. Conduct physical inspections of mounting structures, earthing, lightning arrestors, tilt angles, and module orientation.
● Ensure all installations meet IEC, MNRE, BIS, and other applicable solar standards. Manage government subsidy paperwork.
● Prepare and maintain As-Built documentation, inspection checklists, test reports, NOCs, and Quality Assurance certificates.
● Travel to project sites to perform DC/AC wiring checks, monitor inverter commissioning, and report technical deviations to the Project Manager.
● Identify quality issues, conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
● Maintain a digital repository of project photos and equipment serial numbers for warranty tracking and audit readiness.
● Maintain site safety practices, conduct Toolbox Talks, and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Result Areas (KRA)
● Technical Audit Rigor: Identifying 100% of site deviations prior to project handover.
● Documentation Accuracy: Ensuring a 100% match between as-built documents and physical site installations.
● Audit Compliance: Supporting internal/external audits and ensuring the timely closure of all findings.
● Compliance Efficiency: Maintaining a zero-delay record for submitting net metering and subsidy applications.
● Data Integrity: Achieving 100% accuracy in digital logging of equipment serial numbers and warranty photos.
Key Performance Indicators (KPI)
● Deviation Detection Rate: Number of technical deviations identified versus those caught during final commissioning.
● Report Turnaround: Timely delivery of site audit summaries within 24 hours of inspection.
● Revision Rate: Percentage of documentation sets approved without revision by the Project Manager.
● Process Speed: Average turnaround time for completing government subsidy and NOC files.
● Mapping Accuracy: Percentage of project equipment correctly mapped in the digital repository.
