About The Role
We are seeking a highly meticulous and analytical Data Quality Analyst to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and reliability of data across our Databricks platform. Your primary focus will be on monitoring data quality, investigating anomalies, and implementing improvements to maintain high standards of data excellence. You will collaborate closely with Data Governance, Data Engineering, and Analytics teams to develop and enforce data quality frameworks that support business decision-making and operational efficiency. Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess a strong technical background with hands-on experience in data analysis and quality assurance. A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required. Proven expertise in working with Databricks, SQL, and Python is essential. Candidates should demonstrate a solid understanding of data quality concepts such as accuracy, completeness, consistency, and timeliness. Experience with data profiling, troubleshooting, and anomaly detection is highly valued. Excellent communication skills and the ability to document complex processes clearly are also important. Certifications related to Databricks, cloud platforms, or data governance are advantageous but not mandatory.
Responsibilities
- Monitor Databricks data quality alerts to identify anomalies, inconsistencies, and potential issues that could compromise data integrity.
- Investigate data discrepancies utilizing Unity Catalog lineage and Lakeflow observability tools to trace data origins and transformations.
- Perform comprehensive data profiling and validation using SQL and Python to ensure data conforms to defined standards.
- Assist in designing and implementing data quality checks, including Delta Lake constraints and DLT expectations, to automate validation processes.
- Analyze schema drift, fluctuations in data volume, and late-arriving data to proactively address potential disruptions.
- Collaborate with Data Engineers to embed automated quality checks into data pipelines, enhancing overall data reliability.
- Document investigation findings, remediation steps, and process improvements to ensure knowledge sharing and compliance.
- Support data governance initiatives by contributing to data quality reporting, audits, and compliance efforts to uphold organizational standards.
