Job Description:
We are looking for a highly analytical and business-focused Senior Data Scientist with strong experience in solving complex business problems using data-driven approaches. This is a hands-on individual contributor role focused on deriving insights, building predictive models, conducting advanced analytics, and enabling strategic decision-making across fintech and regulatory technology use cases.
The ideal candidate should have deep expertise in statistical analysis, predictive modeling, experimentation, and translating large datasets into actionable business insights.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze large structured and unstructured datasets to identify trends, patterns, anomalies, and business opportunities.
- Build predictive and statistical models for use cases such as fraud detection, risk scoring, customer analytics, behavioral analysis, and operational optimization.
- Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA), hypothesis testing, feature engineering, and model evaluation.
- Develop analytical frameworks and dashboards to support business and product decisions.
- Work closely with product, business, operations, and engineering teams to solve high-impact business problems using data.
- Generate actionable insights from customer behavior, transaction patterns, and operational data.
- Design and implement experiments, A/B testing frameworks, and performance measurement methodologies.
- Create data storytelling presentations and communicate analytical findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Improve data quality, data interpretation, and analytical processes across teams.
- Document methodologies, assumptions, and analytical workflows for future scalability and reference.

Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Economics, or related field.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in data science, analytics, or statistical modeling roles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset with experience solving real-world business problems.
- Experience in fintech, SaaS, analytics consulting, or data-driven product companies preferred.
Technical Skills:
- Strong proficiency in Python and analytical libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, Statsmodels, or SciPy.
- Strong understanding of statistics, probability, machine learning fundamentals, and predictive analytics.
- Hands-on experience with SQL and large-scale data analysis.
- Experience with data visualization and BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
- Familiarity with machine learning techniques including classification, regression, clustering, and forecasting.
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure is preferred.
- Experience working with big data tools such as Spark is a plus.
- Exposure to NLP, text analytics, or behavioral analytics is preferred.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to present insights effectively.
