Job Summary
As a QE Test Engineer at LPL Financial Corp, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software applications. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing test plans and cases, contributing to the delivery of high-quality financial technology solutions.
Job Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain comprehensive test plans and test cases based on functional and non-functional requirements.
- Execute manual and automated tests, analyze results, and report defects accurately and efficiently.
- Collaborate closely with development teams, product owners, and business analysts to understand requirements and ensure testability of features.
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts using relevant frameworks and tools.
- Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment.
- Identify, document, and track software defects and work with developers to ensure timely resolution.
- Conduct root cause analysis of defects and provide recommendations for process improvements.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing processes, methodologies, and tools.
- Perform regression testing, performance testing, and security testing as needed.
- Provide regular updates on testing progress, issues, and risks to project stakeholders.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in Quality Assurance or Software Testing, preferably within the financial services industry.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and various testing methodologies (Agile, Scrum).
- Proficiency in designing and executing test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
- Experience with automated testing tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Starling, Eclipse, SonarQube, Postman).
- Solid understanding of relational databases and experience with SQL queries.
- Familiarity with API testing concepts and tools.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with defect tracking systems (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps).
- Knowledge of performance testing and security testing principles is a plus.
- Financial industry experience or knowledge of financial products/regulations is highly desirable.
