The QAD Developer / Systems Analyst designs, develops, and supports ERP business operations primarily through, but not limited to, QAD Mfg/Pro applications development, Progress report writing, Progress database support, Progress to Microsoft SQL Server replication, Microsoft SQL Server data warehouse business intelligence support and development, SQL reporting, Linux administration, and web interface development.
Responsibilities
- Manage the entire Software Development Life Cycle for assigned projects on the ERP system
- Moderate business user requirements with programming resource availability
- Design and support business applications using QAD Mfg/Pro standards and practices
- Establish and maintain QAD Mfg/Pro Progress reporting standards and formats
- Maintain the QAD Mfg/Pro Progress database
- Ensure the consistency and accuracy of QAD Mfg/Pro and SQL / Business Intelligence reports. Quality of reporting is a primary objective
- Prepare and maintain documentation outlining the technical basis for report construction and means of producing results
- Work directly with end users and department managers to provide needed QAD and SQL reporting deliverables
- Establish both formal and informal channels in understanding businesses needs and challenges.
- Work with cross-functional teams to make decisions that will best serve the entire organization.
- Be a mentor and resource to team members and business partners.
- Develop system and business knowledge of junior staff members.
- Provide quality service to end users in needs analysis, solution recommendation, training, etc.
- Extensive international distribution and logistics experience with QAD EMT module; EDI; advanced MRP / DRP; and international supply chain planning, scheduling, and product availability.
- Experience with QAD inventory applications covering warehouse management; build-to-stock inventory, consigned and non-consigned; kits planning and management; regulatory compliance tracking (CPSIA and CARB); and reserved inventory.
- Experience with QAD sales applications covering advanced pricing; customer programs including special pricing and discounts, and multi-site pricing; complex commissions structures; and sales history analysis.
- Experience with QAD financial applications covering general accounting; international customs accounting; cash flow analysis; transportation and logistics accounting; and sales and operations planning.
- Experience with QAD .NET client side operation and server side administration. Particular emphasis on .NET browser development
- Experience with integrating QAD with disparate information systems for the seamless exchange and sharing of data between internal systems and external partner systems,
- Experience with Business Intelligence and data warehouse reporting applications SSRS preferred.
- Fundamental understanding of relational databases.
- Understanding of Linux Operating system and Linux/Unix shell scripting.
- Thorough knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle Standards

- Ability to initiate and maintain communicative relationships with end users, managers and I/S personnel
- Excellent understanding of Accounting (GAAP) and related transactional processes

Qualifications
- An undergraduate Business or Computer Science related degree
- Minimum five (5) years experience in QAD MFG/PRO in an integrated multi-national environment.
- Minimum five (5) years experience in 4GL Progress programming for QAD, application and report writing
- Minimum two (2) years experience in QAD non-invasive enhancement and development tools such as Tailor Pro.
- Minimum two (2) years production experience with Microsoft Visual Studio .NET
- Minimum one (1) year Microsoft Transactional SQL and SQL Server administration
- Minimum one (1) year Microsoft Internet web technologies, HTML and ASP, XML
