Role: Sr. SDET

Location: REMOTE (People in Hyderabad preferred) (Will be Hybrid in Hyderabad, IN if offered PERM)

12+ Month

 

The Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) is a hands-on engineering role responsible for embedding quality throughout the software development lifecycle. The SDET partners closely with Software Engineers, Product Management, and Delivery Leads within agile squads to design, develop, and maintain robust automated testing solutions that enable early defect detection, faster delivery, and high-quality production releases.

 

### **Key Responsibilities**

 

**Test Automation & Engineering**

* Design, develop, and maintain scalable automated test frameworks for UI, API, integration, and regression testing

* Write production-quality test code using modern programming and scripting languages

* Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing and fast feedback

* Ensure automated test coverage is aligned with business-critical workflows and risk areas

 

**Quality & SDLC Integration**

* Embed quality early in the SDLC by collaborating during requirements definition, design, and sprint planning

* Define test strategies, test data, and test environments in alignment with delivery goals

* Participate in code reviews with a quality and testability lens

* Drive defect prevention, not just defect detection

 

**Agile Delivery & Collaboration**

* Work as a core member of agile delivery squads alongside developers and product owners

* Support in-sprint testing, automation metrics, and release readiness

* Partner with Delivery Leads and Test Leads to improve sprint quality and velocity

* Contribute to cross-team test standards, best practices, and reusable frameworks

 

**Metrics & Continuous Improvement

* Track and report quality metrics such as automation coverage, defect leakage, and in-sprint testing effectiveness

* Identify opportunities to improve test efficiency, reliability, and execution time

* Continuously evaluate and adopt modern testing tools and approaches

 

### **Required Qualifications**

* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience

* Strong programming experience in one or more languages such as Java and/or Python + JavaScript

* Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks (Selenium, RestAssured, Karma/Jasmin )

* Solid understanding of *oftware engineering fundamentals, SDLC, and agile methodologies

* Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated quality gates

* Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills

 

## **Preferred Qualifications**

* Experience testing distributed systems, microservices, or cloud-native applications

* Familiarity with containerized environments and modern platforms (e.g., OpenShift, Kubernetes)

* Experience with performance, resiliency, or security testing

* Exposure to data-driven testing and test environment management

* Prior experience working in regulated or enterprise-scale environments
