Manager – Quality

Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and technically strong Manager – Quality to lead quality assurance and quality control operations for precision machined components and assemblies. The role requires in-depth expertise in CNC machining processes, strong customer handling skills, and hands-on experience in Right-on First-Time concept, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and CAPA management.
The ideal candidate will drive quality excellence, ensure compliance with global standards, and lead a high-performing quality team.
Key Responsibilities
🔹 CNC Process & Product Quality
• Provide technical expertise on CNC machining processes, tolerances, GD&T, fixture design, tooling limitations, and process capability.
• Monitor KPIs such as PPM, rejection rate, rework, scrap, Cp/Cpk.
• Ensure Process validation, inspection standards and metrology and calibration cycle for compliance.
🔹 Supplier Quality Management
• Develop and implement Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) systems aligned with company and customer requirements.
• Evaluate and approve new suppliers through audits and capability assessments.
• Conduct supplier audits (process audits, system audits, product audits).
• Monitor supplier performance metrics (PPM, on-time delivery, rejection trends).
• Lead supplier corrective actions using structured RCA & CAPA methodology.
• Collaborate with procurement and engineering teams for supplier development and improvement.
• Ensure incoming material quality compliance for raw materials, castings, forgings, bought-out components, and special processes.
• Drive supplier quality improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma tools.
🔹 Customer Quality & Complaint Management
• Handle customer complaints with structured problem-solving methodologies (8D, 5Why, Fishbone).
• Ensure RCA & CAPA implementation and closure within defined timelines.
• Act as quality interface for domestic and international OEM customers.
🔹 Continuous Improvement & Lean Implementation
• Drive Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma Green Belt projects.
• Identify waste reduction opportunities and process stabilization initiatives.
• Improve process capability and reduce variation in high-precision machining.
🔹 Team Leadership
• Lead and mentor Quality Engineers and Inspectors.
• Build a strong culture of accountability and quality excellence.
• Conduct quality training programs across departments.
🔹 Documentation & Digital Systems
• Ensure accurate documentation and audit readiness.
• Maintain quality records, calibration systems, inspection reports.
• Leverage QMS software and digital tools for reporting and analytics.
Required Qualifications
• BE / B.Tech / Diploma – Mechanical Engineering
• Certified Lead QMS Auditor / Internal Auditor
• Proven Lean methodology implementation experience
• 12–15 years (B.E) / 14 - 16 yrars (Diploma) of experience in Quality within CNC machining / precision engineering industry
Technical Competencies
• Strong knowledge of CNC machining processes & limitations
• Expertise in RCA, CAPA, 8D methodology
• Understanding of GD&T, SPC, MSA, PFMEA, Control Plans
• Hands-on experience with metrology instruments and inspection systems
• Customer complaint handling & structured problem solving
• Tech-savvy with ERP/QMS systems
