QA/QC Engineer
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented QA/QC Engineer for a major railway bridge construction project under Indian Railways (NF Railway / NFR). The selected candidate will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of quality across all phases of bridge construction from substructure to superstructure ensuring strict compliance with RDSO, IRS, and IS codes.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
- Oversee on-site QC laboratory for concrete cube testing, slump test, aggregate grading, and soil compaction tests.
- Verify and approve all incoming materials cement, aggregates, reinforcement bars, admixtures, bearings, expansion joints against approved Material Approval Requests (MAR).
- Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of all testing and measuring equipment on site.
- Review and analyse test results; prepare trend charts and take corrective action for non-conformance
- Ensure full compliance with Indian Railways (RDSO/IRS), BIS standards, contract specifications, and approved drawings at all times.
- Interface with the Railways' Inspecting Official, PMC, and third-party auditors; respond to quality observations and close NCRs within timelines.
- Conduct internal quality audits, safety-quality joint inspections, and pre-inspection meetings (PIMs) before major concrete pours or erection activities.
- Prepare and submit weekly/monthly QA/QC reports, inspection logs, and test result summaries to the client and project management.
Qualifications & Skills:
- B.E. in Civil Engineering or Diploma course in Civil.
- Minimum 3 years of work experience in civil construction, such as a major bridge with pile foundation, and road construction.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, MS Office, and site management.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
