Capital Markets / Share Trading-QA Functional Tester (3–6 Years) & QA Lead (7–10 years).
Location: India – Remote

Key Responsibilities
- Perform functional, system, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing of capital markets and share trading applications.
- Understand business requirements, functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Create detailed test scenarios, test cases, test data, and test execution reports.
- Test end-to-end order and trade workflows including:
- Order placement
- Order modification and cancellation
- Order validation
- Order matching/execution
- Trade confirmation
- Order and trade status updates
- Positions and holdings
- Portfolio and P&L
- Funds/margin availability
- Brokerage and charges
- Settlement-related workflows
- Test different order types such as Market, Limit, Stop Loss, Stop Limit, and other applicable order types.
- Validate trading scenarios across relevant market segments such as Equity, Derivatives, and other exchange-traded products.
- Perform positive, negative, boundary, and exception-based testing.
- Validate APIs, database records, messages, and downstream/upstream system integrations where required.
- Perform regression testing for new releases and production fixes.
- Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects using tools such as Jira or equivalent.
- Work closely with developers, business analysts, product owners, and other QA team members to resolve defects.
- Participate in requirement walkthroughs, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, defect triage, and release activities.
- Support UAT, production validation, and post-release verification activities.
- Ensure adequate test coverage and provide QA status reports to stakeholders.
Required Skills & Experience
- Experience in software QA/testing, preferably in Capital Markets, Stock Trading, Brokerage, FinTech, or Financial Services.
- Strong understanding of capital markets and the share trading lifecycle.
- Good knowledge of:
- Order Management Systems
- Trade Management
- Positions & Holdings
- Portfolio/P&L
- Brokerage and transaction charges
- Margin/funds
- Settlement concepts
- Trading/exchange workflows
- Strong experience in functional and regression testing.
- Good understanding of STLC and defect life cycle.
- Experience writing detailed test cases and test scenarios.
- Experience with Jira, Azure DevOps, ALM, or similar test/defect management tools.
- Basic SQL knowledge for data validation.
- Basic understanding of REST APIs and tools such as Postman is desirable.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
Good to Have
- Experience testing brokerage/trading platforms or mobile/web trading applications.
- Exposure to NSE/BSE, exchange order flows, or market data.
- Knowledge of FIX protocol or other financial messaging protocols.
- Exposure to API automation or UI automation.
- Knowledge of derivatives, options, futures, or corporate actions.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Finance, or a related discipline.
