About The Role
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Quality Analyst (QA) to support the migration of ETL workflows from Informatica to PySpark. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in validating data pipelines, ensuring data integrity, and working closely with development and business teams to facilitate a seamless transition. This role involves understanding existing workflows, developing comprehensive test plans, and executing validation procedures to ensure the new PySpark implementations meet all quality standards. The QA Engineer will play a crucial part in maintaining data accuracy, consistency, and reliability throughout the migration process, contributing to the overall success of the project and the organization’s digital transformation initiatives.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 5+ years of experience in ETL testing, with a strong background in Informatica and PySpark. Proficiency in SQL is essential for data validation and analysis. Familiarity with big data platforms such as Hadoop and Spark, along with experience in data migration or modernization projects, is highly desirable. Candidates should have a solid understanding of Agile methodologies and tools like JIRA and Confluence. Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP will be an added advantage. Excellent analytical, communication, and documentation skills are required to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams. Additionally, experience with automation frameworks for data testing and understanding of data governance and quality standards are preferred qualifications.
Responsibilities
The QA Engineer will be responsible for a range of critical tasks, including understanding existing Informatica workflows and validating their PySpark equivalents to ensure functional parity. Developing and executing detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts for ETL processes will be a core part of the role. The candidate will perform comprehensive data validation, reconciliation, and regression testing across source and target systems to identify discrepancies and ensure data integrity. Tracking and reporting defects, collaborating with developers, business analysts, and project managers to clarify requirements, and ensuring comprehensive test coverage are vital responsibilities. Maintaining thorough QA documentation and contributing to process improvements to enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness are also key aspects of the role.
