About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior QA Automation Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in scaling and enhancing the quality assurance processes across high-impact media and streaming platforms. The ideal candidate will have a passion for building automation frameworks from scratch, refining QA methodologies, and collaborating closely with engineering teams in fast-paced environments. You will be responsible for designing and maintaining robust test automation frameworks, driving QA best practices, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality media content and user experiences. Your expertise will directly influence the stability and performance of streaming workflows, including playback, content delivery, advertisements, and user flows.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess over five years of experience in QA Automation or SDET roles, demonstrating a strong technical background and leadership in testing environments. Proficiency with automation tools such as Cypress, Playwright, Selenium, or similar is essential, along with extensive experience in API testing (REST, authentication, etc.). Familiarity with CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or equivalent is required to streamline testing processes. Candidates should have a proven track record of building automation frameworks from scratch and a solid understanding of test architecture and best practices. Experience working within monorepo environments is advantageous. Strong communication skills, ownership mentality, and the ability to work collaboratively across teams are critical. Knowledge of media and streaming platforms, including video playback protocols (HLS, DASH), DRM protection, ad insertion, and experience with Connected TV or mobile streaming apps, will be considered a significant plus.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain comprehensive test automation frameworks using tools such as Cypress, Playwright, or similar technologies.
- Lead the development and implementation of QA strategies and best practices across multiple teams to ensure high-quality releases.
- Expand and improve test coverage for web and API layers, ensuring thorough validation of media workflows and user interactions.
- Collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to understand requirements, identify testing needs, and ensure seamless integration of testing processes within CI/CD pipelines.
- Implement and maintain continuous integration and deployment pipelines to facilitate automated testing and rapid release cycles.
- Contribute to detailed documentation of QA processes, test cases, and automation frameworks to promote transparency and knowledge sharing.
- Mentor junior QA engineers, fostering a quality-first mindset and encouraging best practices across the team.
- Test and validate complex media workflows, including playback, ad insertion, content delivery, and user experience flows, ensuring robustness and performance.
