Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for a QA Automation Engineer. Based in Kochi, this position allows partial work-from-home flexibility. Responsibilities include designing and executing test cases, performing manual and automated software testing, identifying and resolving quality issues, and collaborating with development teams to maintain product standards. The engineer will also contribute to enhancing QA processes and ensuring software performance and reliability.
What you will do
- Design, develop, and maintain robust automated test suites for web (React/Next.js) and mobile (Flutter) applications
- Build and maintain a CI/CD-integrated test pipeline using tools like Selenium, Appium, Playwright, or Cypress
- Conduct functional, regression, integration, performance, and API testing
- Collaborate with backend (Python/FastAPI) and frontend engineers to understand requirements and define test coverage
- Write clear test plans, test cases, and bug reports; track issues through to resolution
- Identify flaky tests and continuously improve test reliability and coverage
- Champion a quality-first culture across the engineering team
- Participate in sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives
What we're looking for:
- 2+ years of experience in software QA with hands-on automation experience
- Proficiency with at least one automation framework: Playwright, Cypress, Selenium WebDriver, or Appium
- Experience testing REST APIs using Postman, REST Assured, or similar tools
- Solid understanding of testing mobile applications (iOS/Android)
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar)
- Experience writing test scripts in Python or JavaScript/TypeScript
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced startup environment
Good to have:
- Experience with Flutter/Dart mobile testing
- Knowledge of performance and load testing tools (k6, JMeter, Locust)
- Familiarity with AWS environments and serverless architecture
