We're hiring a hybrid QA Engineer to own quality for our product across the Web app, APIs, and Chrome Extension. You'll start by building strong test plans, running exploratory testing, and setting up clean regression practices. As you ramp up, you'll gradually introduce automation for critical API and UI flows.
What You’ll Do
First 7-10 days (Manual-first)
- Create and maintain test plans for features and releases
- Perform exploratory testing to uncover edge cases and real-world failures
- Execute regression testing on the dev environment before releases
- Test APIs using Postman (collections, environments, auth flows)
- Log high-quality bugs in Jira with clear reproduction steps, evidence, and severity
60-90 days (Automation ramp)
- Propose and begin building an automation strategy for:
- API regression (Postman/Newman or equivalent)
- Web critical flows (Playwright/Cypress or equivalent)
- Chrome extension smoke tests (core install/login/action flows)
- Integrate automated checks into CI (where applicable) and improve release confidence
Must-have Skills
- Strong fundamentals in test planning and exploratory testing
- Hands-on experience with Postman (auth, environments, collections, negative cases)
- Excellent bug reporting in Jira (steps to reproduce, expected vs actual, logs/screenshots, severity)
- Comfortable testing across Web and API; exposure to Chrome extensions is a plus
- Automation experience with Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium
- Clear written and verbal communication (you can explain issues to devs efficiently)
- Scripting knowledge (JavaScript/TypeScript or Python)
Nice-to-haves
- Understanding of OAuth flows, sessions, tokens, and expiry handling
- Familiarity with CI pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, etc.)
- Experience testing SaaS Application
- We ship faster with fewer regressions
- Bugs are reported clearly and reproduced quickly
- A reliable regression checklist exists for releases
- Automation starts covering high-risk flows and reduces manual load over time
