About Us
OneWay.Cab is building technology-driven intercity mobility solutions across India. We operate web and mobile platforms handling bookings, dispatch, payments, driver operations, and real-time trip management. We are looking for a hands-on QA Automation Engineer who is comfortable writing code, debugging systems, and improving software quality through automation.
Role Overview
This is an automation-first QA role focused on API testing, backend validation, mobile debugging, and automated test infrastructure — not repetitive manual testing. You will work closely with engineering and product teams to ensure fast, reliable, and stable releases across web and mobile platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Automation & API Testing
- Build and maintain API automation test suites using Python or similar frameworks
- Perform API testing using Postman
- Validate APIs, payloads, authentication, headers, and error handling
- Analyse failed test runs and identify root causes
Test Execution & Quality Assurance
- Design and execute functional, regression, and exploratory test cases
- Identify high-risk scenarios affecting stability and user experience
- Perform regression testing after bug fixes and deployments
- Create clear bug reports with logs, screenshots, and reproduction steps
Backend & Database Validation
- Query databases to validate workflows and business logic
- Create and manage test data
- Verify consistency between frontend flows, APIs, and database records
Mobile App Debugging
- Analyse Android logs using Android Studio / Logcat
- Validate app behaviour under different network conditions
- Reproduce and debug crashes, API failures, and edge cases
Engineering Collaboration
- Work closely with developers, product managers, and business teams
- Contribute to improving QA processes, automation coverage, and release quality
- Assist in feature validation across web and mobile applications
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Java
- Experience with REST APIs and API testing
- Familiarity with Selenium, Appium, Playwright, PyTest, JUnit, or TestNG
- Ability to write SQL queries for data validation
- Understanding of SDLC, STLC, regression testing, and defect lifecycle
- Familiarity with Android debugging and Logcat
- Good analytical and debugging skills
