About Role
We are looking for a QA Automation Engineer with strong experience in API automation and cloud testing to validate end-to-end IoT solutions. The role involves testing interactions across embedded firmware, cloud services, mobile applications, and REST APIs, ensuring seamless device connectivity, provisioning, control, OTA updates, and cloud workflows.
Job Responsibilities
- Design and develop automated test suites for REST APIs and cloud services.
- Validate end-to-end IoT workflows involving Firmware, Cloud, and Mobile Applications.
- Automate functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end test scenarios.
- Verify device provisioning, authentication, device management, OTA updates, user management, and cloud connectivity.
- Integrate automation with Jenkins/GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
- Perform API, backend, and cloud validation using OpenAPI/Swagger specifications.
- Analyze failures, perform root cause analysis, and collaborate with Firmware, Cloud, Mobile App, and DevOps teams.
- Support release validation and production issue investigation.
Knowledge and skills
- Strong programming skills in Python.
- Hands-on experience with REST API automation (Pytest, Requests, Postman, or similar).
- Good understanding of AWS services (IAM, EC2, S3, Lambda, API Gateway, CloudWatch).
- Experience with Linux, Git, Docker, and CI/CD (Jenkins/GitLab).
- Knowledge of HTTP/HTTPS, JSON, OAuth/JWT, and API testing.
- Understanding of IoT communication protocols such as MQTT, BLE, and Wi-Fi.
- Experience with SQL and basic cloud debugging.
Experience and Education
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics & Telecommunication (E&TC), or a related engineering discipline.
- Experience between 3 to 8 years.
- Good understanding of cloud services and white-box testing methodologies.
- Strong programming, debugging, and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Experience with Python and API automation is preferred.
- Familiarity with Linux, Git, CI/CD, and AWS cloud services is an added advantage.
Good to Have
- Experience testing IoT or connected device ecosystems.
- Familiarity with embedded firmware validation.
- Knowledge of Matter, Thread, Zigbee, or similar IoT standards.
