Job Description
Role Overview We are seeking a QA Automation Engineer to champion product quality while working with extreme ownership and a builder’s mindset. This role involves designing scalable automation frameworks, integrating AI-powered testing, and embedding quality deeply into our CI/CD pipelines. You will collaborate closely with engineering, product, and design teams, taking early accountability for risk identification and release readiness. Key Responsibilities As the Senior QA Automation Engineer, you will:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks for web applications and APIs using tools like Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium.
- Implement and optimize AI-powered testing solutions to enhance test coverage, generate test cases, and identify edge scenarios.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing and rapid feedback.
- Conduct automated functional, integration, regression, and API testing across browsers and devices.
- Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and designers to understand features and identify potential risks early.
- Track bugs, perform root-cause analysis, and ensure timely closure of issues.
- Maintain structured test documentation including automation strategies, test plans, and coverage reports. Participate in release readiness reviews and provide clear QA sign-off.
- Continuously explore and adopt emerging AI/ML tools and techniques to improve automation efficiency and test intelligence. Qualifications, skills and abilities:
- 3+ years of experience in test automation, ideally for web-based applications.
- Strong proficiency in automation frameworks and tools such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or similar.
- Hands-on experience with programming languages like JavaScript/TypeScript or Python for test scripting.
- Experience with API testing tools like Postman, REST Assured, or similar.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted testing tools and techniques (e.g., test case generation, visual testing with AI, self-healing locators).
- Experience with CI/CD integration (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar).
- Strong understanding of test design techniques, defect lifecycle, and SDLC/STLC.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodology and tools like Jira/Linear is preferred.
- Detail-oriented mindset and a strong passion for delivering quality software through automation.
- Ability to troubleshoot automation failures and provide timely resolutions. What You’ll Bring
- Extreme ownership mindset – takes end-to-end responsibility for quality, not just test execution.
- Builder’s attitude – enjoys creating, improving, and scaling automation frameworks from the ground up.
- Quality-first thinking – naturally anticipates risks, edge cases, and user impact.
- Curiosity & learning agility – actively explores AI/ML tools and better ways of testing.
- Clarity in communication – documents well, flags issues early, and gives confident QA sign-off.
- A deep passion for creating disruptive products that truly solve customer problems and redefine industries.
- Resilience and adaptability to thrive in a high-growth, fast-changing startup environment.
- A collaborative spirit, with the ability to align engineering, product, business, and design into one unified mission.
- Integrity and accountability – honest about limitations, owns defects, and drives closure Our Values Our team embodies our eight core principles and if these principles speak to you – we would love to talk with you
- Mission Driven: We will passionately apply ourselves to serving our stakeholders, knowing if we create value for them, value will flow to our company.
- Extreme Ownership: We think and act like owners. Our focus is on building long-term value, not scoring short-term marks. Boldness: We want to revolutionize. Make a difference. We would rather fail at something meaningful than succeed at something trivial.
- Creating our own luck: The best way to make progress is to act.
- Economical: Efficiency is important, and we consider both the costs and benefits of our actions.
- Team-oriented: In working together, we maintain a low ego, make everyone feel welcome, assume good intent, trust one another, and seek out different perspectives. We empower our teammates to be at their best. We believe in the principle – ‘support each other to grow together’.
- Challenged, but not overwhelmed: We are curious people and learning is our second name. Growth happens outside our comfort zone. We achieve our potential through consistent, manageable growth.
- Integrity: We do the right thing. When we make mistakes, we own and correct them. Everyone can count on us to act according to our values, beliefs, and principles we state we hold. This trust must never be broken. Remember, we are not in the business of disputes. We are in the business of trust
