About the role

The BRM Assistant/Business Development position is a developmental role designed to prepare the employee for future responsibilities as a full Business Relationship Manager. The position will support customer-related activities while learning AOSP, CRES and RECON processes, products, and internal workflows. This role focuses on building foundational knowledge, assisting BRMs, and developing the communication and problem-solving skills necessary to serve as a primary customer contact in the future.

Responsibilities

Learning & Development

- Develop a foundational understanding of AOSP, CRES and RECON customers, their products, and how AOSP supports each relationship.

- Gain working knowledge of the AOSP, CRES and RECON factories, including production flow, quality expectations, and specification requirements.

- Participate in training sessions with financial, leaf, shipping, and factory teams to understand cross-functional dependencies.

Customer Support (with BRMs as needed)

- Serve as primary BRM for CRES/PRO/Recon sales and business opportunities.

-Help provide timely and accurate responses to customer-related inquiries on new opportunities.

- Observe and support customer meetings, calls, and communication to develop relationship-building skills.

Operational Support

- Work closely with the financial division to learn how costs, margins, and accounts receivable influence customer management.

- Support monitoring of blend costs, product specifications, and blend maintenance activities alongside the Leaf Utilization Manager.

- Assist in documentation of customer interactions, product changes, and internal requests.

Business Development Exposure

- Participate in discussions around new opportunities and growth with existing customers.

- Assist in gathering data or preparing materials needed for customer proposals or internal reviews.

-Support enhancement opportunities for existing business for efficiency and growth.

Qualifications

- High School diploma or equivalent required.  BS Degree preferred.

- Working knowledge of tobacco preferred but not required.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

-Proficient computer skills.

- Ability to listen effectively, learn quickly, and apply feedback.

- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team, show respect for differing viewpoints, and operate positively within an organizational structure.

- Openness to coaching, direction, and developmental feedback.
