Role Overview
We are seeking a capable Software Engineer with hands-on experience in python to join the trading systems team. The role involves designing, building, and maintaining critical components of high-performance trading infrastructure — including risk calculators, health checkers, data pipelines, and internal dashboards. Work is at the intersection of finance and technology, where correctness, performance, and reliability are non-negotiable.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and maintain core trading system components including risk calculators, position trackers, and health checkers.
- Build and manage data pipelines and workflow automation using Apache Airflow.
- Develop backend services in Python and/or Go for low-latency, high-reliability trading operations.
- Containerise and deploy services using Docker and manage infrastructure configurations.
- Build and maintain internal full-stack dashboards and tooling for operations and monitoring.
- Identify, debug, and resolve production issues quickly in a live trading environment.
- Collaborate closely with quants and traders to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.
- Write clean, well-tested, and well-documented code with an emphasis on correctness and performance.
Required Skills & Experience
Core Requirements
- 3+ years of industry or relevant experience in software engineering.
- Strong proficiency in Python (primary) and/or Go.
- Experience with Docker for containerisation and deployment.
- Hands-on experience building and operating Apache Airflow pipelines.
- Full-stack development skills — ability to build simple internal web interfaces (React/Vue/similar + REST APIs).
- Solid understanding of systems design, concurrency, and building reliable services.
- Comfort working in Linux/Unix environments and with command-line tooling.
Good to Have
- Prior experience in financial technology, algorithmic trading, or market making environments.
- Familiarity with messaging systems (Kafka, Redis, RabbitMQ) or time-series databases.
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals and low-latency systems.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Grafana, Prometheus, ELK).
