Position Overview
Technical Lead – Python (ITG Cardif, Chennai) – Lead DevOps and tool‑chain initiatives, delivering CI/CD pipelines, technical templates and end‑to‑end automation. You will support development teams worldwide, coach junior staff, and act as a liaison with the Cloud DevOps Centre of Excellence (COE).
Role & Responsibilities
- Create, maintain and document modular, version‑controlled Python packages that can be consumed by multiple development teams across subsidiaries.
- Develop Python scripts for routine DevOps tasks (environment provisioning, log aggregation, health‑checks, secret‑rotation, etc.) and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines.
- Design, implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines within the DevOps Foundation.
- Apply development best‑practices (e.g., SOLID, clean‑code) and drive continuous improvement.
- Ensure pipeline security aligns with corporate security standards.
- Assist subsidiaries during partner‑onboarding and integration phases.
- Review and align CI/CD implementations with ongoing project needs.
- Provide technical and functional support during development, build, scanning and release cycles.
- Track all activities, produce weekly status reports for the Cloud DevOps COE and help prioritize incoming requests.
- Mentor newcomers in the ISPL team on build‑and‑run DevOps topics.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in Python development & DevOps.
- Strong expertise in Python technologies.
- Proven Python development skills (primary language for the role).
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
- Fluent written and spoken English; additional French is a plus.
- Solid understanding of general IT infrastructure, CI/CD tools, and security best‑practices.
- Experience working in Agile environments and using collaborative tools.
Good‑to‑Have Skills
- Experience with cloud platforms (both on‑premise and public).
- Familiarity with DevOps foundations such as Craft, static‑code analysis, containerization, and automated testing.
- Ability to coach and advocate for developers across multiple regions (Europe, LATAM, Asia).
- Strong communication, teamwork, resilience and organizational abilities.
- Attention to detail and a rigorously‑driven mindset.
