About The Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Developer with a strong background in risk management systems to join our technology team at Luxoft. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge risk platforms, supporting front-office risk, market risk, and credit risk initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on development experience with high-performance risk applications and demonstrate deep technical proficiency in Python, MongoDB, SQL Server, and real-time messaging platforms such as Kafka and IBM MQ. As a key member of our team, you will collaborate closely with risk managers, quantitative analysts, and front-office stakeholders to design, develop, and optimize risk management systems that are critical to our clients' operational success.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience as a developer within financial services, preferably within front-office risk, credit risk, or market risk technology teams. They should demonstrate strong programming expertise in Python and database development skills using MongoDB and SQL Server. A solid understanding of risk data models, including VaR, PFE, credit exposure, and market risk sensitivities, is essential. Familiarity with real-time messaging platforms such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or IBM MQ is required. Candidates should also have experience working with risk analytics libraries, pricing models, or integrating with vendor risk engines like Murex, Calypso, or proprietary systems. A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or a related field is mandatory, with an advanced degree considered a plus. Experience working in agile development environments with source control tools like Git, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and enhance high-performance risk management applications utilizing Python and C++ to meet evolving business needs.
- Collaborate with risk managers, quantitative analysts, and front-office stakeholders to translate complex requirements into effective technical solutions.
- Implement and support risk analytics engines, including scenario analysis, stress testing, and real-time market data ingestion processes.
- Develop scalable microservices and APIs using Python, ensuring seamless integration with backend databases such as MongoDB and SQL Server.
- Ensure the high reliability, scalability, and performance of risk systems by integrating robust messaging architectures using Kafka or IBM MQ.
- Participate actively in DevOps practices, including testing, deployment automation, and system monitoring to maintain optimal system health.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues promptly, optimize system performance, and ensure compliance with regulatory and security standards.
