About The Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Developer with a strong background in risk management systems to join our technology team at Luxoft. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on critical financial systems that support risk assessment, compliance, and decision-making processes. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience developing front-office risk, market risk, or credit risk platforms, with a deep technical proficiency in Python, MongoDB, SQL Server, and real-time messaging platforms such as Kafka and IBM MQ. As a key member of our team, you will collaborate with risk managers, quantitative analysts, and front-office stakeholders to translate complex business requirements into robust, scalable technical solutions. Your contributions will directly impact the stability, performance, and regulatory compliance of our risk management systems, supporting our clients' needs in a dynamic financial environment.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess a minimum of 5 years of experience as a developer within financial services, particularly in front-office risk, credit risk, or market risk technology teams. A strong programming background in Python and experience with database development using MongoDB and SQL Server are essential. Candidates should have a solid understanding of risk data models, including Value at Risk (VaR), Potential Future Exposure (PFE), credit exposure, and market risk sensitivities. Familiarity with real-time messaging platforms such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or IBM MQ is required. Experience working with risk analytics libraries, pricing models, or integrating with vendor risk engines like Murex, Calypso, or proprietary systems is highly desirable. A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or a related field is mandatory, with an advanced degree considered a plus. Candidates should also have experience working in agile development environments, utilizing source control tools like Git, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and enhance high-performance risk management applications using Python and C++ to support real-time risk assessment and analytics.
- Collaborate closely with risk managers, quantitative analysts, and front-office stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
- Implement and support risk analytics engines, including scenario analysis, stress testing, and real-time market data ingestion to ensure accurate risk measurement and reporting.
- Develop microservices and RESTful APIs using Python, integrating seamlessly with MongoDB and SQL Server backends to ensure scalable and maintainable system architecture.
- Ensure the high reliability and performance of risk systems by integrating robust messaging architectures utilizing Kafka or IBM MQ for real-time data streaming and communication.
- Participate actively in DevOps practices, including testing, deployment automation, and system monitoring to ensure continuous integration and delivery of high-quality software.
- Troubleshoot production issues promptly, optimize system performance, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards and security policies to maintain operational integrity.
