Description
We’re looking for a Python Backend Developer Intern to join our team and work on a live eCommerce application. This is a hands-on role focused purely on backend development using Django REST Framework (DRF).
This internship is best suited for candidates who already have practical experience with Django and want to deepen their skills by working on real-world systems involving APIs, asynchronous tasks, and scalable backend design.
What You’ll Work On
Build and maintain REST APIs using Django REST Framework
Design and optimize database schemas for eCommerce workflows
Implement background jobs using Celery + Redis
Work on features like product management, orders, payments, and user flows
Write clean, maintainable, and efficient backend code
Debug issues and improve performance of existing systems
Requirements
~1 year of hands-on experience with Django
Strong understanding of REST API design (DRF preferred)
Solid knowledge of SQL and data modeling
Good grasp of Data Structures & Algorithms
Familiarity with Celery & Redis
Ability to work independently in a remote setup
Comfortable committing ~40 hours/week
Nice to Have
Experience with production-level backend systems
Understanding of scalability, caching, and async processing
Prior work on eCommerce or similar domains
