We are hiring an experienced Python Automation Engineer for a short-term remote contract project involving large-scale document automation, OCR processing, SharePoint integrations, and AI-assisted data extraction workflows.
Role Overview
We are looking for a hands-on Python Automation Engineer with strong experience in document processing, OCR workflows, SharePoint integrations, and AI-powered data extraction.
The ideal candidate should be comfortable working with semi-structured documents, processing large batches of scanned and text-based PDFs, and generating structured outputs for CRM enrichment and automation workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Build Python-based automation workflows for processing historical loan and application documents
- Integrate with SharePoint using Microsoft Graph API
- Traverse SharePoint folder hierarchies and identify relevant loan/application files
- Extract borrower and broker information including:
- Name
- Email
- Phone Number
- Additional metadata
- Handle:
- Text-based PDFs
- Scanned PDFs requiring OCR
- Implement AI-assisted structured data extraction
- Generate structured CSV outputs for CRM enrichment
- Handle multiple document versions and varying folder structures
- Build scalable batch-processing pipelines
- Ensure extraction accuracy and data quality
Required Skills
- Strong Python development experience
- Experience with SharePoint integrations & Microsoft Graph API
- Hands-on experience with PDF extraction libraries/tools
- Experience with OCR frameworks for scanned documents
- Familiarity with AI/LLM-assisted extraction workflows
- Experience building automation and batch-processing pipelines
- Ability to work with semi-structured and unstructured documents
- Strong debugging and validation skills
Preferred Skills
- Experience with mortgage, loan processing, or financial documents
- Familiarity with Salesforce or LOS systems
- Experience with metadata extraction and document classification
- Exposure to:
- Azure AI
- OpenAI
- AWS Textract
- Google Document AI
- Experience handling large-scale document processing systems
