Job Summary

As an Experienced Associate in the Financial Markets & Real Estate (FMRE) team, you will be working on complex engagements involving financial instruments and treasury operations. Your role combines expertise in both consulting and audit engagements, applying knowledge of technical accounting standards, financial reporting processes, tax, and regulatory frameworks while leveraging financial modeling and technology tools.

Job Description

What does this role entail?

As an Experienced Associate, you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues.

PwC Professional skills and responsibilities for this management level include but are not limited to:

  • Understanding and addressing challenges in financial services and treasury-related industries.
  • Applying accounting treatments, tax and regulatory standards (US GAAP/IFRS) to complex financial instruments.
  • Demonstrating extensive knowledge of hedging strategies and application of hedge accounting requirements under US GAAP/IFRS.
  • Performing valuation and fair value assessments for derivatives, including interest rate swaps, FX, options, forward contracts, swaps, etc.;
  • Reviewing and developing complex financial models using Excel, VBA, Python or other industry tools.
  • Evaluating hedging strategies, treasury operations, and embedded derivatives.
  • Conducting technical research and providing advisory on accounting and financial reporting issues including consolidations, foreign currency matters, and financing transactions.
  • Assisting in financial reporting processes and presenting insights to stakeholders.
  • Participating in internal and external communications with client engagement teams.
  • Staying updated with market and regulatory developments to deliver compliant solutions.
  • Produce high-quality work that adheres to professional standards, stay up-to-date with technical developments in areas of specialization, and handle data and information responsibly.
  • Serve as a participant on communications with engagement teams / clients.
  • Uphold the firm's code of ethics and business conduct.

Depending on the specific position within Financial Markets & Real Estate (FMRE), play an integral role as a professional on PwC's FMRE team supporting engagements. This will include understanding business objectives of the company, how the scope of services fits in and the skills you will need to successfully perform the work.

What skill does it take?

Must-have

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of similar work experience from following organizations:
  • Big 4’s – similar experience
  • Financial Services Companies / Investment Banks/Credit Rating Agencies specifically in controllership profiles
  • Proficient in MS Excel; Knowledge of or interested in learning VBA and Python
  • Strong communication skills
  • Teamplayer, committed to providing high quality work and maintaining timeliness
  • Demonstrate self-motivation and a desire to take responsibility for personal growth and development
  • Commitment to continuous training and to proactively learn new processes.

Preferred Years Of Experience -

0-3 years

Good-to-have

  • Certifications in Finance
  • Strong accounting, hedging and analytical skill
  • Basic understanding of corporate financial statements and various types of securities
  • Playing a role in discussions, proactively ask questions and share an informed point of view

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree - B.Com, B.Tech, B.Sc, BBA
  • Certifications: Preferable if pursuing one or more out of CPA, CFA, CAIA, FRM
  • Bachelors in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Geoinformatics, Business Administration, IT can be considered
