About the role
- Advise on banking and finance matters, including lending, security creation, financing documents, and related regulatory issues
- Support corporate legal matters, including corporate governance, board and shareholder documentation, and statutory compliance
- Assist on M&A transactions, including due diligence, transaction structuring, drafting, reviewing, and negotiating transaction documents
- Review and manage transaction-related agreements and ancillary legal documentation
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders, external counsel, financial advisors, and counterparties on deal execution
- Identify legal and regulatory risks and provide practical, business-oriented advice
- Support post-transaction integration and closing compliance requirements, where applicable
- Monitor relevant developments in banking, corporate, and M&A laws affecting the business
Required Experience and Skills
- Qualified lawyer with relevant post-qualification experience
- Strong experience in banking and finance laws and corporate legal matters
- Good working knowledge of M&A transactions and transaction documentation
- Experience in an in-house legal team or with substantial in-house-style transactional support
- Strong drafting, review, negotiation, and issue-spotting skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced business environment
- Commercially practical and solution-oriented approach
Preferred Profile
- Prior experience handling financing and corporate transaction work for companies, financial institutions, or large law firms
- Familiarity with regulatory and compliance aspects linked to banking and corporate transactions
- Ability to manage a focused portfolio of legal work with minimal supervision
