Job Description

The primary role of the Boiler Pickleball Camp (BPC) Counselor - Student Service position is responsible for the safety and well-being of campers during camp operational hours. This multi-day athletic camp is built on four pillars: safety, community, fun, and athletic growth. The goal of this position is to give students valuable real-world experience in a professional environment while developing the athletic and teamwork skills of the camper through various pickleball activities. This position will work 35-39 hours per week during the month of June 2026. Those hours may be worked in any combination, at the discretion of the direct supervisor. A BPC Counselor position must be reliable, organized, responsible, and flexible. They must also be ambitious, detail-oriented, creative, and driven.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent and minimum of one semester of college coursework successfully completed
Previous work experience within camps, or working with children preferred
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
Flexible and dependable with a strong attention to detail
Problem solving, logic and reasoning skills
Customer service oriented
Ability to multi-task and work within deadlines
Ability to work independently and with a team
Be timely and organized

Position Responsibilities

Position Responsibilities

Oversee the daily operations of camp and serve as a direct extension of the Camp Director
Plan and implement the full summer program, including staff training week, weekly themes, daily activities, and the overall structure and flow of camp
Provide leadership and act as a role model for both Head Counselors and Counselors
Develop staff schedules, coordinate and organize camp activities, respond to questions and concerns, resolve conflicts, and manage behavior challenges with campers
Lead weekly staff meetings and take charge of planning and executing events.
Supervise camper drop-off and pick-up procedures and provide support by stepping in for counselors when needed
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Camp Director
